What are All-On-4 Implants?

The All-On-4 procedure, also known as "Teeth in a Day," offers patients the opportunity to have their remaining teeth removed, implants placed, and a fully functional smile all in just one day. This procedure not only enhances the appearance of patients' smiles but also rejuvenates their outlook on life. Many people struggle with issues like severe tooth decay, failing dental work, and broken teeth. For these individuals, the All-On-4, "Teeth in a Day" procedure provides a great solution to achieve a new smile and address long-standing dental issues.

Most natural-looking and aesthetically pleasing: Has the closest resemblance to natural teeth in both appearance and texture.

Permanent: Stays in the mouth without being removed like a denture.

No long healing times before you can use your dental implants.

The roof of the mouth is not covered.

The best chewing ability out of all the options for replacing a full arch or full mouth of teeth.

How it Works

This process involves extracting any remaining teeth, placing 4-6 implants per arch, and attaching a low-profile bridge to those implants. The strategic positioning of the implants helps avoid the sinuses, eliminating the need for costly bone grafts and lengthy healing periods.

Our dentist has enhanced the traditional All-On-4 procedure by tailoring it to each patient's needs, resulting in improved outcomes. At Indiana Dentures and Implants, we carefully evaluate each case and customize our treatment to suit the individual's unique anatomy. Your dentist will place between four and six implants per arch, with temporary fixed bridges being placed during the healing process as the implants fuse with your jawbones. Once healing is complete, your final teeth will be crafted using zirconia, a stronger and more natural-looking material than acrylic denture teeth. Zirconia is also more hygienic and resistant to staining, providing longer-lasting and aesthetically superior results compared to acrylic/titanium hybrid bridges commonly used elsewhere.

Am I a Candidate?

Many patients, including those previously deemed ineligible for dental implants due to insufficient bone, can still undergo the procedure. By strategically placing straight and angled implants to avoid sinuses and utilize the strongest bone available, your dentist may be able to avoid costly and time-consuming sinus augmentation bone grafts. A complimentary consultation will allow your dentist to evaluate your specific needs and determine if All-On-4, also known as "Teeth in a Day," is a suitable solution for you.

All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

1
Mouth Impressions
The lab uses these tools to make your temporary implant bridge(s). If you are missing most or all of the teeth in the treated arch, the doctor might suggest a wax try-in. This includes a model of your temporary implant bridge to check for correct bite alignment and appearance.
2
Procedure
During the procedure, tooth removal, implant placement, and temporary implant bridge placement will be completed, typically lasting 4-7 hours.
3
Post Op #1
Please monitor the healing progress after the procedure and do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have.
4
Post Op #2
During the 3-week follow-up appointment following the procedure, the sutures will be taken out and the healing progress will be assessed. Patients are typically given the green light to begin using a water flosser/WaterPik at this point.
5
Impressions for Final Teeth
4 months after procedure
6
Try In
We will create a mock-up of your final teeth within 5-10 days of impressions. Multiple wax try-ins may be required in some cases. Your satisfaction with the wax try-ins is crucial before we proceed with processing them, as changes cannot be made once they are processed. Any changes to your bridge(s) after approval and fabrication will incur a full-cost remake charge.
7
Seat Final Teeth

After you have approved your wax try-in(s), it typically takes 4-6 weeks for your bridge or bridges to be prepared for seating.

frequently asked questions

During the 4 month healing period after getting your implants, it is important to stick to a soft diet. This means only eating foods that can be cut with a plastic fork. This precaution is necessary to ensure the optimal integration of your implants into your bone, which can improve the long-term success of the procedure. Remember, you are making an investment that could last for many years, even a lifetime.
